Maeci & Gracie met during chemo in 2010 at Riley Children's Hospital in Indiana. Maeci was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma Stage IV and Gracie was diagnosed with a rare brain tumor - Oligoastrocytoma. Maeci has been in remission for a year & 1/2. Gracie finished up her chemo, the tumor is stable and will have MRI's every three months. The girls were able to take their Wish trips together. They decided after having such a great time, they wanted to "give back" to other sick kids.

Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation – Ride for Kids 2012 Posted

As you’ve probably read in earlier posts, Gracie was diagnosed with a brain tumor in early 2010.  While part of it has been removed the part which cannot be removed is stable, but the battle is not over.  In order to start finding cures for brain tumors in children we need more research. One group which specializes in brain tumor research for children is the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation.  The foundation is going to have their annual event Ride for Kids on September 9, 2012 here in Indianapolis, IN.  This year we have a page on their site about Gracie and her battle.  We set a goal on the site for money raised in Gracie’s name to $5,000.  So far the page has been up for 3 days and we are over $800.  Here is the link to Gracie’s page.
